Frozen 4 Race Series

For 2026 the Frozen 4 Bicycle Race Series is in its eight consecutive year. It's promoted and organized by the Greater Hartford Cycling Club with the

cooperation of other partner clubs including: The Cheshire Cycle Racing Club, CCAP (Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program), Eastern Bloc Bike Club and Carpe Diem Cycling. The races series is held under a USA cycling permit and is run with USAC officials in charge.

This year, with cooperation of the City of New Britain Parks and Recreation Department, we are moving the event to beautiful Walnut Hill Park in New Britain Connecticut. The one mile road around the park was designed in the early 1900’s specifically for bicycle racing and offers spectators a view of the entire race.

SERIES FAQ:

• Where is the race, parking, registration, and the bathrooms?
Walnut Hill Park, New Britain, CT 06052.
Specifically across from 109 Vine Street.

Park using street parking. Please do not block any driveways.

• Where are the bathrooms?
Portapotties will be between 102 Vine Street and Walnut Hill Park D Rd, near the start/finish and registration.

• Is there food/water?
There are no facilities available at the race venue. There are many fine restaurants close by in New Britain.

• Is there warm up on the course?
During races, no.

Riders warming up on local roadways do so at their own risk, rollers / trainers recommended so you can warm up near your vehicle.

RACES and CLINICS:

7:30 AM Clinic, CCNS will lead adult clinic, CCAP will lead Juniors clinic

8:00 AM Cat 4/5, Mens ECCC C-D race 30 Minutes Laps are determined by officials 

8:35 AM Womens 3/4/5 ECCC Wom- C-D 40 Minutes Laps are determined by officials 

8:35 AM Junior race (9-14 years old) 25 Minutes Laps are determined by officials. This race will start right after the Women's race, and will finish before their race

9:20 AM Masters 45+ Cat 1-4, Masters 55/65+ Cat 1-4, ECCC Women A-B, Women Cat 1-2-3 45 minutes Laps are determined by officials. Masters 45+ will start ahead of the others.

Officials will determine final start format (staggered, together, etc). Womens ECCC will have their own prize list

10:10 AM “B” Race- Mens 3-4, ECCC Mens B 45 minutes Laps are determined by officials 

Juniors 15+ are included and will be scored separately 

11:05 AM “A” Race- Mens 1,2,3,/ ECCC Mens A 60 Minutes Laps are determined by officials. Juniors 15+ allowed in race 

Junior Entry Fees are $25 for first race, $5 for Second race.

All others, $45 for first race, $25 for second race.
